The US Treasury Department announced today, Thursday, the imposition of sanctions against commercial networks affiliated with the Yemeni Ansar Allah movement and the Lebanese Hezbollah organization “as part of efforts to increase pressure on Iran and its arms.”

The Ministry said in a statement that “the sanctions targeted companies, individuals and ships accused of involvement in shipping Iranian goods, including oil and liquefied gas, to Yemen and the Emirates on behalf of a network affiliated with a Houthi financial official.”

Last July, the United States announced the issuance of sanctions under the banner of “counter-terrorism” on Yemen, targeting individuals and entities linked to the financial mediator of the Ansar Allah group (Houthis), Saeed al-Jamal.

The US Administration also announced on June 18 that it was imposing sanctions on a network of individuals and entities that ‘facilitated the purchase of weapons’ for the Houthi group in Yemen, which is targeting civilian ships in the Red Sea, accordi
