The European Union Naval Mission in the Red Sea “Aspedes” announced that the fire is still burning on the ship “Sunion”, which rises the Greek flag, since August 23 after being attacked by the Yemeni Houthi group.

The European Union Naval Mission in the Red Sea said in a post on the X platform today, Monday, that the ship “Sunion” is still anchored at the same point in international waters.

The mission explained that there are no clear indications of an oil leak from the ship.

Last Wednesday, 3 projectiles hit the oil tanker “Sunion” off the coast of the city of Hodeidah in western Yemen, which led to a fire on board and the loss of engine power, according to the “UKMTO” agency, which is run by the British Navy.

The Iranian-backed Houthis said they targeted the ship with drones and missiles.
