Minister of Water and Irrigation Raed Abu Saud said Tuesday that Jordan is committed to enhancing the water sector, citing the national water carrier project as a cornerstone of the national water strategy.

In remarks during the launch of the national water company Miyahuna’s 2024-2028 strategic plan, Saud highlighted the strategy’s goal of a developed and sustainable water sector. He proposed putting forward a thorough plan to manage additional water resources the national carrier will provide.

Director of the Water and Environment Office at the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Laura Gonzalez, who attended the ceremony, commended the plan as a key step in joint efforts to improve water management and secure sustainable solutions. She pointed to the close cooperation between local and international partners to realize the strategy’s objectives.

una Chairman Saad Abu Hamour, stressing the company’s goal to achieve excellence and growth, improve service efficiency and reduce water loss by 2 percent.

Miyahuna CEO Mohammad Ouran said the water strategy was devised based on an adaptable and measurable scientific approach, as it is focused on digital transformation and the use of modern technology to enhance the company’s operational efficiency.
