The Ministry of Transport announced today, Friday, that Najaf International Airport received 136 flights during the past twenty-four hours.

The Director General of the General Company for Airports and Air Navigation Management, Abbas Al-Baydani, said in a statement: “Najaf International Airport received, yesterday, Thursday, the eighteenth of Safar, 136 flights, carrying (20497) passengers coming from different parts of the world, while the number of departing passengers reached (10748) passengers.”

Al-Baydani confirmed that “Najaf International Airport operates 24 hours a day to receive all delegations from various Arab and Islamic countries,” noting that “the flights are witnessing complete flexiblity in their movement inside Najaf International Airport without any significant obstacles, praising the level of organization and efficiency of the workers that contributed to operating flights and receiving passengers smoothly.”

He added that “Najaf International Airport is considered a main gateway for visi
tors to enter Iraq during the Arbaeen pilgrimage season of Imam Hussein (peace be upon him),” indicating that “the airport administration works in coordination with various concerned parties to ensure the smooth flow of air traffic and provide the best services to travelers.”
