Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Security Council failed to fulfil its responsibilities in Gaza, and Zionist enemy only understands force language

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Yemen confirmed the Security Council’s continued failure to fulfil its responsibilities in maintaining international peace and security in accordance with the purposes of the Charter of the United Nations.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs explained in a statement issued this evening that Resolution No. 2720, which was adopted yesterday regarding the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, confirms beyond any doubt that the authority of the Security Council has been withdrawn in favor of Washington, which legitimizes the Zionist enemy’s crimes with a justification that is contrary to international law and humanitarian law. International and all international agreements and treaties, enabling the so-called Prime Minister of the extremist Zionist enemy, Benjamin Netanyahu, to implement his dirty plan aimed at liquidating the Palestinian cause and imposing forced displacement as a fait accompli.

The statement stressed that Security Council resol
ution 2720 had been devoid of its content and had ignored the reality of what was happening on the ground in the Gaza Strip, its war crimes and genocide against Palestinian civilians, especially children, women and the elderly, the imposition of a stifling blockade on the entry of food, water and fuel and the collapse of the entire health system.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ statement concluded by calling on Arab, Islamic and peace-loving States to take a serious position in support of an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and to allow unimpeded access to humanitarian, pharmaceutical, food and fuel assistance, to exert all pressure on the Zionist enemy and its allies in Washington and a number of European capitals who understand only the language of power and interests that affect their economy directly or indirectly.
