Minister of Oil reviews progress of work at gas and oil facilities in ports of Ras Issa and Hodeida

The Minister of Oil and Minerals in the caretaker government, Ahmed Abdullah Daris, on Saturday visited the gas and oil facilities in the ports of Ras Issa and Hodeida.

Minister Daris and his deputy – Acting Executive Director of the Yemeni Gas Company, Yasser Al-Wahidi, were briefed on the progress of work at the gas and oil facilities in the two ports, and the mechanism for unloading ships.

They inspected work related to providing a strategic stock of petroleum derivatives (gasoline and diesel) to continue providing services to citizens and meeting their needs for these materials.

Daris stressed that the operation and development of these facilities comes within the framework of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution and the President of the Supreme Political Council, and in accordance with the recommendations of the House of Representatives, which stressed the importance of activating the Ras Issa port and establishing these facilities urgently, pointing to the importance of these facilities, w
hich contributed to providing large quantities of petroleum derivatives and providing strategic reserves of oil and gas.

He pointed out the importance of expanding the construction of facilities to accommodate a strategic stock of oil derivatives of no less than (200 to 400) thousand tons.

The caretaker Minister of Oil explained that the visit comes to review the storage capacity of some tanks, indicating that the implementation of some tanks has been completed, while work is underway on others.

He praised the role of the leadership of the gas and oil companies and those in charge of the gas and oil facilities in the two ports, and everyone who contributed to developing the activity of these facilities. He stressed the ministry’s interest in developing work at the two companies’ facilities within the framework of their plans to expand in this field and create new tanks, to provide a strategic stock of gas and oil derivatives.
