The Middle East Special Operations Commanders Conference (MESOC) started on Monday in Aqaba under the sponsorship of Prince Faisal bin Al Hussein.

More than 400 delegations from 73 countries are participating in the conference to discuss the latest strategies and technologies that affect defence and security and review strategies that can be applied to confront future challenges.

The Director General of the Jordan Design and Development Centre (JODDB) said, “Stemming from His Majesty King Abdullah II’s belief in the importance of the role of special operations, his directives were to hold a conference and exhibition specialising in special operations so that this event would constitute a platform to enhance our ability to confront complex security challenges through international cooperation, exchange of expertise, innovation in technologies and strategies.”

He added that the conference comes at a time when the region and the world are witnessing changes and conflicts that are becoming more intense, noting
that Jordan constantly renews its call for peace, respect for international law, enhancing security, and conflict resolution peacefully through diplomatic channels.

The CEO of Saqr Company, which specialises in drone technology, said, “Today, we are witnessing unprecedented transformations in the battlefields. Rapid technological development is reshaping our concepts of war, defence and security in our current era, as conflicts are now resolved through the power of information, speed of decision-making and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances.”
