Microsoft Image Recognition Feature on Bing Chat for Limited Users

Microsoft announced a new ‘image recognition’ feature on their Artificial Intelligence (AI) bot ‘Bing Chat’, which is available to a limited number of users as it’s still preparing for launch.

Microsoft remarked that the new image recognition feature will allow users to upload an image to the AI bot and it will be able to answer questions about it, as well as scan its’ contents, and analyze it.

Head of Web Services and Advertising at Microsoft Mikhail Parakhin assured that this feature is currently only available for around 10 percent of ‘Bing Chat’ users on computers.

According to Parakhin, Microsoft is planning on expanding support for Bing Chat users on portable devices as well.

He explained that trial testing integrating Bing Chat into external browsers has been halted as the developing team found several bugs and issues, especially in Apple’s ‘Safari’ web browser, yet noting that testing will resume soon.

However, Microsoft has previously announced that Bing Chat will be available to everyone without needing a Microsoft account, as well as supporting a voice input feature with many languages, as Microsoft has been periodically adding new features to the AI bot since its launch months ago.
