The National Center of Meteorology and Early Warning expected scattered and varying thunderstorms to fall over several Provinces, and widespread dust in the deserts of Hadramaut, Al-Mahra, and parts of four provinces during the next 24 hours.

According to the weather forecast issued by the centre, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), scattered thunderstorms of varying intensity are expected, with hailstones falling occasionally, in parts of Taiz, Ibb, Al-Dhale’, Al-Bayda, Dhamar, Raymah provinces, and the highlands of Lahj, Abyan, and Shabwa.

It stated that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was recorded at the weather monitoring station in Dhamar amounted to 38.0 mm, and scattered rain fell outside the scope of the monitoring stations in parts of Abyan, Lahj, Al Dhale’, Taiz, Raymah, Amran, Al Mahwit and Hajjah provinces.

The center warned citizens against being in the depths of valleys , flood paths, and against thunderstorms in the mountainous highlands
where rain is expected.

It also warned against exposure to dust, especially the elderly, children and those suffering from chest diseases in areas where dust is present.
