The National Center for Meteorology and Early Warning expects heavy thunderstorms of varying intensity in several governorates during the next 24 hours.

The center reported in its weather bulletin, a copy of which was received by the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that heavy thunderstorms accompanied by hail and descending winds are likely to fall on the Tihama plain and the coasts of Hajjah, Hodeidah, Taiz and the governorates of Saada, Hajjah, Al Mahwit, Amran, Sana’a, Dhamar, Raymah, Ibb, Taiz and Al Dhale’e, Al Bayda.

Varying intensity thunderstorms are expected in parts of the governorates of Al Mahrah, Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Abyan, Aden, Lahj, Al Jawf, Marib and the entrance to Bab al-Mandab.

The center stated that the amount of rain that fell during the past 24 hours and was measured in some meteorological monitoring stations was as follows: Sana’a: 68.8 mm, Ibb: 22.2, Dhamar: 18.5, Raymah: 16.7, Al Mahwit: 9.2, Taiz: 4.8, Hajjah: 2.6 mm.

Rain of varying intensity fell inside and outside the scope of the
monitoring stations in the governorates of Hadhramaut – Shabwa – Abyan – Al Bayda – Marib – Lahj – Al Hodidah – Amran and Tihama Plain.

The center called on citizens to take the utmost caution and be careful not to be in valleys and flood paths and cross land bridges, and from thunderstorms, strong winds and falling hail.
