Baghdad, Israeli media reported that about 10 missiles were launched last night from Lebanon towards towns that had not been evacuated in the Western Galilee, north of Israel, and some of them were intercepted in the sky of the city of Akka.

Channel 14 said that two Israelis were injured as a result of a missile falling in Tzuriel, northern Israel. Meanwhile, Israeli Army Radio reported last night that 10 rockets were launched from Lebanon towards Western Galilee, and most of them were intercepted.

Yedioth Ahronoth newspaper reported that “following the sounding of sirens in a number of towns in the Western Galilee, a heavy barrage of rockets was launched into the region from Lebanese territory.”

It added: “Residents reported that a missile fell near a car and caused damage to the road near the Moshav Tzuriel settlement, which was not evacuated in the Galilee. A house in the same settlement was also damaged by a missile.

For its part, the Israeli army said on Monday evening: An interceptor missile was lau
nched at an air target in the Haifa area in northern Israel. It later became clear that was a false diagnosis. It continued: ‘No warnings were activated in accordance with established policy, and there is no fear of a security incident.’

In turn, Hezbollah said in a statement that its fighters “put the settlement of Tzuriel on their schedule and bombed it for the first time with dozens of Katyusha rockets.”

In the same context, Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), broadcast pictures yesterday evening, Monday, of its bombing from southern Lebanon of the headquarters of the ‘300-Shomera’ Brigade of the Israeli occupation army in the Upper Galilee with a missile salvo, while the Syrian National Party mourned a fighter who was killed in an Israeli raid targeted the town of Shihin, southern Lebanon.

Lebanese and Palestinian factions in Lebanon, most notably Hezbollah, exchange daily bombardments across the border with the Israeli army, resulting in hundreds of deaths
and injuries, most of them on the Lebanese side. The factions say they will stop the bombing when Israel ends the war it has been waging with American support on the Gaza Strip since last October 7, which left about 129,000 Palestinians dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 10,000 missing amid massive destruction.
