The production and exporting operations of the Kuwait Oil Company (KOC) are going on normally, unaffected by the global information technology (IT) outage that hit the world earlier in the day, said the company’s spokesman Eisa Al-Maraghi Friday.

In a press statement, Al-Maraghi, who doubles as the KOC’s Deputy CEO for Planning and Innovation, said that the company does not use the CrowdStrike system and that its systems are working normally.

He pointed out that the KOC’s technical teams, who had immediately assessed the company’s situation and made sure that the company’s systems were not affected by the glitch, are on high alert to deal with any emergency in due time and as per relevant procedures.
