Gaza – Ma’an – The Emergency Committee in Khan Yunis Municipality in the Gaza Strip called on the displaced people living in rainwater collection ponds and temporary sewage treatment basins in the liberated areas to leave them immediately.

The committee said in a statement on Monday on Facebook: ‘Khan Yunis Municipality affirms its full support for our patient and steadfast Palestinian people, who have been subjected to a war of genocide for nearly a year, and we appreciate your steadfastness in the face of the usurping occupier and its ongoing aggression.’

She added: “With the approach of winter and the low pressure system expected to enter this week, we ask God for a good and blessed winter and a safe winter for our people and displaced people, God willing.”

The committee stressed that “the rainwater collection pond located north of Al-Amal neighborhood, the temporary sewage treatment basins in the liberated areas, the temporary rainwater collection pond at the end of Omar Al-Mukhtar Street known as No.
(5) and all low-lying areas are extremely dangerous places.”

She called on “the displaced brothers residing in those areas to leave immediately and look for another safe place, as your presence in the rainwater collection ponds poses a danger to your lives and safety.”

Khan Yunis Municipality stressed that it is “doing its utmost to reduce the risks associated with low-pressure systems, despite the scarcity of resources and capabilities, in cooperation with institutions, neighborhood committees, and various parties.”
