The Amman Chamber of Commerce discussed on Tuesday with a delegation from Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Religious Affairs Committee prospects to raise the volume of trade between the two countries.

Chamber official Bahjat Hamdan spoke of the deep relations between Jordan and Uzbekistan in various fields and the need to enhance cooperation in economic, tourism, pharmaceutical industries, education and cultural fields, the chamber said in a statement.

The two sides discussed holding a Jordanian-Uzbek business forum in the Uzbek capital, Tashkent, in early 2025 as an opportunity for the private sector in both countries to explore economic prospects, it said.

Head of the Uzbek team, Sirajuddin Shamsuddinov, said the visit aims to enhance trade ties, pointing to the deep bilateral relations and economic potentials, as well as diverse goods and products.

He commended the development in key Jordanian economic sectors, notably pharmaceuticals and chemical industries, the services sector, inform
ation technology, banking and tourism.
