The most important projects under implementation or under bidding are the $144 million project to construct and equip Prince Hashim Military Hospital/Zarqa Governorate, the $43.7 million project to construct and equip specialty clinics and a nuclear medicine center at King Hussein Medical City, the $9.9 million dental college/University of Jordan, and the $70 million gas pipeline network to connect industrial and developmental cities to the natural gas pipeline.

Additionally, the $40 million project to build and equip a number of technical and vocational schools, the $20 million early education and childhood development/expansion of kindergartens – Phase II in government schools, the $100 million digital transformation project in the Ministry of Health and the virtual hospital, and the $75 million infrastructure development project for the Al-Maghtas Development Area.

Existing projects in Aqaba include agreements between the Aqaba Development Company and Abu Dhabi Ports Group to establish the Aqaba Cruise Terminal, the first cruise facility outside the UAE, and a gateway for travelers visiting the Red Sea.

On December 19, 2021, it opened with the arrival and reception of its first cruise ship, and on January 23, 2023, it received 64 cruise ships carrying about 77,000 tourists.

The Marsa Zayed project has an area of 3.2 million m2, and in its first phase it aims to develop an area of 1.2 million m2. Maqta Ayla Digital Solutions was established as a partnership between Aqaba Development Corporation and Maqta Gateway, the digital arm of Abu Dhabi Ports Group.

The projects also include a unifie
d digital portal linking information of ports, service recipients and entities associated with the transportation and supply chain, to eliminate the printing of 1 million sheets of paper annually, and complete transactions electronically, instead of 90,000 “in-person” field reviews.
