AMMAN: “The Palestinian cause is our central issue, and no one can question the Jordanian state in its positions towards its brothers in Gaza, and Jordan will continue its support and positions in favor of the rights of the Palestinians,” Kharisha concluded.
Independent Election Commission (IEC) Commissioner Raed Al-Adwan, for his part, stated that the reform movement started in the Kingdom in 1989 and that it was accompanied by laws governing political life, such as the laws governing elections and parties. He claimed that political modernization is a gateway to economic modernization and public sector modernization, and that these laws were passed in accordance with a clear royal message.
Al-Adwan went on to say that the new election law aims to establish a parliament with distinct party platforms that can address the problems with modernizing the public sector and economic visions. It also aims to establish powerful political parties with public support and innovative democratic and political action prog
rams. Al-Adwan emphasized the significance of community pressure and cooperation in ensuring the success of the new political experience.
DPA Director General, Rafiq Khirfan, for his part, stressed that the people living in the camps are an integral part of the country’s social fabric. He also said that the purpose of this meeting was to raise awareness of the significance of voting in the upcoming parliamentary elections, which is a national obligation that must be carried out in order to select decision-makers. However, the importance of voting goes beyond simple participation; it also involves inspiring others and advancing their goals in order to create parliaments that have the power to bring about change.
He also stated that participation in the elections is consistent with His Majesty King Abdullah’s vision to modernize the political system, noting that His Majesty maintains a firm stance in support of the Palestinian cause in various forums, in addition to his ongoing efforts to end the war in Gaza
and supply it with food, humanitarian aid and field hospitals.
Discussions about the new elections law, the political modernization system, and the crucial role that voters will play in the success of the impending parliamentary elections were heard from the audience, and the speakers answered questions and made comments.
