HEBRON: Israeli occupation forces assaulted a Palestinian man and his parents tonight in Tel Rumeida neighborhood in the city of Hebron, south of the occupied West Bank, according to medical sources.

Imad Abu Shamsiya, an activist with the Israeli human rights organization B’Tselem, said Israeli occupation soldiers briefly detained Mahmoud Abu Markhia, 31. He said the Israeli occupation forces subjected the young man to physical assault, and subsequently targeted his parents when they attempted to intervene to prevent the soldiers from attacking him.

Abu Shamsiya elaborated that Israeli occupation forces have intensified their repressive measures against residents in the Tel Rumeida area, located in the heart of Hebron.

The region is known for facing challenges due to Israeli settlements and military checkpoints, contributing to a tense and difficult living situation for the local population.
