Israeli forces assault olive harvesters and arrest six in Husan

Israeli occupation forces attacked olive harvesters today in the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem in the southern West Bank, detaining several individuals in the process.

Rami Hamamra, director of the Husan village council, reported that the forces targeted olive pickers in the Al-Waziri area south of the village, close to the colonial settlement of Beitar Illit, which is built on Palestinian land.

The soldiers used tear gas and stun grenades against the harvesters before arresting six individuals.

It is worth noting that just a week ago, Israeli colonists cut down 100 olive trees belonging to local residents in the same area.

This year’s olive harvest season has seen repeated assaults by Israeli forces and colonists, including the burning and uprooting of olive trees, theft of crops, and preventing farmers from accessing their lands.
