Israeli colonists uproot 30 olive trees east of Salfit

Israeli colonists uprooted about 30 olive trees in the village of Yasuf, east of Salfit, on Tuesday.

Head of the Yasuf Village Council, Wael Abu Madi, said that a group of Israeli colonists broke the said village and uprooted about 30 olive trees, owned by two Palestinian siblings.

Abu Madi pointed out that the village is subjected to continuous attacks by colonists from the illegal colony of Tafuh, which is built on citizens’ lands, as they uproot trees on an ongoing basis, in addition to the occupation’s repeated closure of the village’s main street.

According to a report prepared by the National Bureau for Defending Land and Resisting Settlements, the suffering of farmers during the olive harvest season this year is more severe than last year’s, due to the terrorism of the occupation and colonists, which threatens to lose higher rates of the crop.

According to the Wall and Settlement Resistance Commission, settlers uprooted 699 trees last month, including 694 olive trees in the governorates of Hebron,
Salfit, Bethlehem, Nablus, Ramallah and Tulkarm.
