NABLUS: An international activist was injured by live ammunition today while Israeli forces were suppressing a peaceful demonstration in the town of Beita, located south of Nablus, according to medical sources.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that the 40-year-old international activist sustained a gunshot wound to the thigh and was transported to hospital for medical treatment.

Israeli forces had raided Beita and dispersed the weekly protest against settlement expansion near Jabal Sabih on the outskirts of the town.

The troops fired live ammunition, stun grenades, and tear gas, leading to confrontations between the demonstrators and the occupation forces, which resulted in the foreign activist being shot.
