The Undersecretary of Taiz Province for Development and Services, Abdulwase Al-Shamsi, inspected on Thursday a number of farms of shami and western corn, coffee, and mango fruit in Mawiyah district.

The Undersecretary, along with the development team from the concerned authorities and Bunyan Foundation, listened to an explanation of agricultural crops types represented by shami and western maize in Wadi Al-Humaira, Al-Sadh, Wadi Sudan and Jabana in Mawiyah, the cultivated areas, the challenges facing farmers, and ways to address them.

Al-Shamsi stressed the importance of activating the agricultural extension and field schools role to enhance awareness among farmers to combat pests using traditional methods and not resorting to the use of external pesticides that distort the fruit quality and affect the soil.

During the visit, he was accompanied by the Zakat branch director , a member of the development team in Mawiyah district, Abdul Jalil Al-Qaisi, the head of the preparatory committee of the Mawiyah Coop
erative Society, Nabil Al-Wajih, the preparatory committee financial officer , Hashim Al-Fattahi, the coordinator of Bunyan Foundation, a member of the development team in the district, Ahmed Al-Sharaabi, and an official of the diesel unit in the province, Yusuf Al-Sanawi.
