In what appears to be the start of a new settlement, Israel sets up rooms on Palestinian land in Jordan Valley

In what appears to be the groundwork for the establishment of another illegal settlement, Israel today set up rooms on land in the northern Jordan Valley, east of Khirbet Humsa al-Fouqa, according to Mutaz Bisharat, a local official.

He said that the Israeli army set up eight rooms on privately-owned Palestinian land after last year’s forcible eviction of its residents from their homes and lands.

Setting up the rooms is usually an attempt to create a de facto situation on the ground and a nucleus for the construction of a settlement.
