Amman: The Independent Election Commission (IEC) announced on Wednesday the opening of accreditation for local journalists and media professionals to cover the 2024 parliamentary elections.

The accreditation process is in line with the executive instructions for accrediting journalists, media professionals, photographers, technicians, and workers in local and international visual, audio, and print media institutions to cover the 2024 Lower House of Parliament elections slated for September 10th.

In a statement, the IEC indicated that applications for journalist accreditation will be accepted from July 3 to August 21. No applications will be accepted after this date, as per the instructions published on the commission’s website (www.IEC.jo).

The IEC invites all journalists, media professionals, technicians, photographers, and workers in local visual, audio, and print media institutions who wish to cover the elections and meet the conditions stated in the instructions to visit the commission’s website to rev
iew the executive instructions and fill out the approved forms.

The commission affirmed its commitment to cooperating with media institutions and its efforts to take the necessary measures to empower journalists and cover all stages of the electoral process under Jordanian legislation and best international practices.
