Huge Fire Broke Out in Several Buildings in Southwestern Germany

A huge fire broke out on the roof of a building in the town of Uberlingen, southwestern Germany, causing severe damage to many nearby buildings, without causing human injuries.

Spokesman for the German fire brigade Martin Scherrer said that initial reports indicate that the fire started on the roof of a building in the town center for reasons that are still under investigation, and then spread to nearby buildings, German news agency (dpa) reported.

He pointed out that the fire caused physical damage to many buildings, amounting to two million euros ($2.1 million).

Uberlingen, located on the northern shore of Lake Constance, is a town with a population of 22,000.

A fire broke out in the Vivantes Am Urban Hospital in the Kreuzberg district in Berlin on April 3, seriously injuring three patients and a nurse.
