Horeca Jordan international exhibition for hotels, restaurants starts in Amman

The ninth session of the International Exhibition for Hotels, Restaurants, Food Industries and Hospitality Services “Horeca Jordan” started Tuesday.

Director General of the Jordan Tourism Board Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat opened the three-day exhibition at the Jordan International Exhibition Centre at Mecca Mall with the participation of Arab and foreign ambassadors, representatives of the Hotel Association and the Tourism Restaurants Association, general managers of hotels and investors.

According to a statement, the exhibition holds products of 180 brands displayed by Jordanian and international companies.

The exhibition will include cooking competitions in which chefs from Jordanian hotels and restaurants will compete under the supervision of a global jury of culinary experts.

The chair of the company organising the event, Lawrence and Al Husseini Consulting, Thuraya Husseini, said the exhibition sheds light on the hospitality and service sector’s needs. It is the “ideal destination” for sector workers.

Hus
seini added that the current session witnessed a large turnout from local and international companies to benefit from the meetings provided by those in charge of organising “Horeca Jordan” and to work on the success of the participation.

Horeca began in Beirut 31 years ago, and from there it went to Kuwait, Riyadh, Jeddah and Muscat and arrived in Jordan 9 years ago after two Jordanian companies obtained the franchise rights to organise it in the Kingdom.

The exhibition includes exhibits of more than 180 Jordanian and international company brands in the hospitality sector, food industries and restaurant and hotel equipment.

“Horeca Jordan” is held annually with the support of the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, the Jordan Tourism Board, the Restaurant Association and the Hotel Association.

The international cooking competitions are held in cooperation with the Jordanian Chefs Association.
