Health Ministry condemns attack on ambulance by colonists

RAMALLAH: The Palestinian Ministry of Health has condemned the assault on an ambulance belonging to the Salfit Government Hospital while its crew was transporting a patient near Qalqilya, north of the occupied West Bank, on Thursday evening.

In a statement, the ministry described the attack, which involved physical assault on the ambulance driver and the accompanying doctor, as part of a series of daily and escalating assaults by Israeli forces and colonists against the healthcare system in both the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.

It said this violence deprives patients and the injured of necessary medical treatment and blatantly disregards all international humanitarian and human rights laws and conventions.

The Ministry of Health reiterated its appeals to the international community and all health organizations to take immediate action to provide urgent protection for the Palestinian health sector and to ensure necessary medical support for the people facing unprecedented Israeli aggression.
