Ambassador Akram Harahsheh on Tuesday presented credentials to the Director-General of the United Nations Office at Geneva (UN Geneva), Tatiana Valovaya, on Monday as Jordan’s Permanent Representative to the office and specialized international agencies in Switzerland.

During a ceremony held at the United Nations Office at Geneva (UNOG), Harahsheh affirmed Jordan’s “firm” belief in the UN’s “lofty and noble” principles and its keenness to enhance joint cooperation with the UN and its specialized agencies.

For her part, Valovaya wished success for Harahsheh in assuming his new duties, stressing the importance of the Kingdom’s role in achieving the UN’s goals.

Harahsheh also presented his credentials to the Director-General of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as the Kingdom’s Permanent Representative to the organization during a ceremony held at its headquarters.
