Guterres: Things in Lebanon are getting worse

UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres confirmed: “Things in Lebanon are getting worse.” Guterres said: “It is necessary to avoid a all-out war in Lebanon,” noting: “Civilians are paying a heavy price.”

Guterres said in a speech at the emergency session of the UN Security Council: “It is necessary to avoid a full-scale war in Lebanon,” noting that “civilians are paying a heavy price.”

He added: “Israel rejected the ceasefire proposal and intensified its strikes on civilians.”

He pointed out that UNIFIL forces are still in their positions in southern Lebanon.
