Gaza: The Israeli occupation army has reduced so-called safe humanitarian zones in the Gaza Strip from 230 square kilometers since the start of the war to 35, 9.5 percent of the entire strip’s area, putting civilians at risk of attacks, the Gaza Civil Defense Authority said Saturday.

When the ground invasion began in early November, the Israeli army ordered hundreds of thousands of civilians in northern Gaza to move to the south, which was designated as “a safe humanitarian zone,” it said in a statement.

These zones were 230 square kilometers, or 63 percent of the total area of Gaza, including agricultural land and commercial, economic and service facilities with an area of ??120 square kilometers, it said.
