Doha: The Generation Amazing Foundation (GA), the human and social legacy initiative of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, announced the successful participation of its ambassadors and youth advocates in Festival 24, which took place from July 19 to 29, ahead of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

In a statement released on Monday, GA noted that Festival 24 brought together over 500 young people from 36 countries under the theme United by Sport, featuring programmes and panels based around promoting social and professional integration through sport and immersing attendees in enriching cultural experiences.

GA was represent at Festival 24 by two youth advocates from Qatar, Mohammed Al Qassabi and Arham Khalid, who were joined by GA-sponsored youth delegations from Right To Play in Pakistan and Forca Foundation in Senegal, each contributing to a vibrant tapestry of global youth leadership.

Recognizing the value of such international engagements, the Delegation of the European Union to the State of Qatar supported GAs
participation in Festival 24, further enhancing the experience for the young delegates and aligning with the EU’s commitment to youth empowerment.

GA Youth Advocate Mohammed Al Qassabi reflected on the value of international dialogue, commenting, “At Festival 24, my biggest takeaway is the interaction with youth from all over the world who share a joint passion for sport for development. The exchange of ideas and cultural knowledge is immensely beneficial.” In turn, GA Executive Director Nasser Al Khori said, “This event allowed us to further advance the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals while building on the continued legacy of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.”
