French PM: Violence acts in the country are “intolerable, unforgivable”

French Prime Minister Elisabeth Borne on Friday condemned the violence that swept the country, describing it as “intolerable and unforgivable”, following the policeman’s killing of a minor driver who tried to bypass a traffic checkpoint.

Borne, through her official Twitter account, expressed her support and confidence in the police, gendarmerie and firefighters who perform their mission bravely.

French Interior Minister Gerald Darmanin, announced on Twitter that 667 people had been arrested since Thursday night until Friday dawn, 307 of them in Paris, during the third day of violence.

According to BFM TV, the French Presidential Palace Elysee announced that President Emmanuel Macron will chair a meeting of the Crisis Unit, which is an inter-ministerial committee, later Friday, for the second time in two days to assess the situation after a third night of violence in France following the deadly shooting of a teenager by a police officer
