Warsaw, Political analyst and foreign editor at the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, Jerzy Haszczynski, confirmed that the visit of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Poland will strengthen political and economic relations between the two countries.

Haszczynski stressed in an interview with Qatar News Agency that the State of Qatar has contributed to resolving a number of conflicts in different regions of the world, based on its firm belief in the necessity of resolving disputes through peaceful means. He pointed out that Qatar has become a reliable international mediator thanks to its effective efforts, bilateral and multilateral cooperation to enhance security and peace at the regional and international levels, especially in Afghanistan, its mediation efforts to stop the war in the Gaza Strip, and its efforts to resolve the crisis in Ukraine and mitigate its humanitarian and social repercussions through the “Reunification” initiative, to enhance the protection of children affected by conflicts
through continuous coordination between Ukraine and Russia to make family reunification operations successful and ensure the safety and security of children.

He noted that the Russian-Ukrainian war preoccupies Poland, and that despite the many files that Poland is currently concerned with including: relations with Russia, the issue of the rise of far-right in Europe, and the upcoming North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) summit in the United States; yet, relations with Qatar constitute a great interest to Poland, due to the great position of the State of Qatar in a number of political, sports and economic fields.

Haszczynski added that he has written several articles about the State of Qatar. Despite its relatively small area, it plays a major role in resolving international conflicts, as this was obvious in the agreement to bring peace to Afghanistan under the auspices of Qatar and its attempts to end the war in Gaza.

He noted that the two countries agree in many visions, especially since they both vo
ted in favor of supporting Palestines request for full membership in the United Nations (UN), and the two countries also support achieving peace in Ukraine.

At the conclusion of his interview with QNA, political analyst and foreign editor at the Polish newspaper Rzeczpospolita, Jerzy Haszczynski, highlighted the awarding of HH Chairperson of Qatar Foundation for Education, Science and Community Development, Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, with the Order of the Smile, awarded by the International Chapter of the Order of the Smile in Warsaw, the Republic of Poland in 2012, in appreciation of Her Highnesss great role in caring for and supporting children and defending their rights.
