Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Ayman Safadi took part on Sunday in the preparatory meeting of the Arab-Islamic Ministerial Committee in charge of international action to stop the war on Gaza, held to coordinate positions towards joint action, on the sidelines of the high-level week of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
The committee discussed the unified Arab-Islamic position for the ministerial meeting to be held on “the situation in Gaza and the implementation of the two-state solution as a way to achieve a just and comprehensive peace,” which the committee is hosting this week along with the European Union and Norway, in order to push for an end to the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank, and activating the recognition of the Palestinian state.
In addition, Safadi continued his meetings with a number of his counterparts, foreign ministers of Arab and foreign countries.

e met with Bahraini Foreign Minister, Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, as part of the ongoing Arab consultation and coordination process regarding the developments in Gaza, the dangerous escalation in the West Bank and Lebanon.
Safadi and Al Zayani discussed efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, ensure the protection of civilians, and deliver adequate and sustainable aid to all parts of the Gaza Strip. The two ministers also discussed the historic fraternal relations between the two countries and ways to enhance them in various fields.
Safadi held extensive talks with Sierra Leonean Foreign Minister Timothy Musa Kabba on efforts to stop the Israeli aggression on Gaza and the dangerous escalation in the occupied West Bank and Lebanon.
Safadi lauded Sierra Leone’s role as a non-permanent member of the Security Council and the Kingdom’s full support for its efforts to achieve international peace and security.
The two ministers emphasized the start of work to develop bilateral relations in
various fields.
Safadi also met with Niels Annen, Parliamentary State Secretary to the German Federal Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development, to discuss cooperation programs between Jordan and Germany, as well as German aid to Jordan.
Safadi urged the international community to shoulder responsibilities for Syrian refugees rather than shifting them to host countries.
Safadi held talks with UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Trk on developments in the region and Israel’s ongoing violations against the Palestinian people.
Safadi underlined that Israel’s aggression against Gaza and its denial of the rights of the Palestinian people has exposed the credibility of international law and the credibility of the institutions of joint international action, stressing the need to apply international law and international humanitarian law without selectivity or double standards.
