SANA’A – SABA :

Foreign Affairs Minister and Expatriates Jamal Amer met on Tuesday with World Food Program (WFP) Resident Representative in Sana’a Pierre Honnorat.

During the meeting, they discussed the program’s work plan during the current phase and next year, especially those related to resuming the provision of food aid and absorbing more affected families.

In the meeting, Minister Amer explained that the Government of Change and Construction will work to enhance cooperation with international organizations and address the imbalances and obstacles to ensure the smooth flow of their performance in a transparent manner that helps the most affected communities

FM emphasized the importance of working to increase the number of beneficiaries of the humanitarian aid project, focusing in particular on the most needy people, as well as those affected by the floods and torrential rains in many provinces.

For his part, Honnorat stated that the deteriorating humanitarian situation and food insecurity in Yemen is
a priority on the program’s agenda.

He said that the biggest obstacle to the implementation of projects is the sharp decline in funding, and there are great efforts by WFP with donors to resume funding for projects, especially those related to food aid.
