The five-a-side football championship for employees of the Ministry of Youth, its subsidiaries, and the Youth Care Fund commenced on Sunday at Revolution Sports City in the capital Sana’a, celebrating the anniversary of the Prophet Muhammad’s birth.

Organized by the Department of Special Activities at the Ministry of Youth in collaboration with the Sports for All Federation, the championship is part of the ministry’s initiative to enhance youth, sports, and cultural activities among its staff.

The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Mohammed al-Mawalad, Minister of Youth and Sports; his deputy, Nabeeh Abu Shusaa; and Undersecretaries Ali Hadban of the Sports Sector and Ramzi al-Aghbari of the Projects Sector, along with other key youth and sports leaders.

The inaugural match ended in a thrilling 5-5 draw between the teams of Essam Driban and Jalal al-Qatta. In the second match, Essam al-Dhabhani’s team emerged victorious over Abdo al-Idrissi’s team with a score of 7-5.
