The first phase of the training course on the Financial and Accounting Information System “AFMIS” concluded on Wednesday at the Finance Office in Dhamar Province.

The course, which lasted ten days, aimed to qualify 24 trainees from the directors of the Finance Office branches and accounting units in the province’s directorates on the use of the Financial and Accounting Information System “AFMIS”.

The Finance Office Director in the Province, Fouad Al-Haboub, explained that the participants received detailed information and knowledge about the Financial and Accounting Information System “AFMIS”, the basics of its use, its data and components, the state’s general budget cycle, and basic data entry applications when moving from the manual accounting system to the “AFMIS” system at the beginning of the fiscal year

Al-Haboub considered the “AFMIS” system a qualitative leap in the management of government financial resources, contributing significantly to achieving transparency, accountability and efficiency in f
inancial performance.

He pointed out that the project comes within the framework of the Finance Ministry strategy and the local authority to automate financial work and enhance oversight, which contributes to stimulating efforts to follow up on the collection of resources and preserve public money.
