Farmer injured in attack by colonists while harvesting olives in Salfit

SALFIT: A Palestinian farmer was injured this evening as a result of an attack by Israeli colonists while he was harvesting olives in the village of Yasouf, located in the West Bank province of Salfit.

Wael Abu Madi, the head of the Yasouf Village Council, reported that colonists from the colonial Tappuah settlement, nearby, hurled stones at farmers in the Mashrafa area west of the village. This attack resulted in the injury of farmer Saif Suhail Khadr Hussein, who was struck in the head by a stone.

Abu Madi explained that the colonists actively chase farmers away and prevent them from harvesting olives in various areas of the village.

This year’s olive harvesting season in the West Bank has witnessed repeated assaults from Israeli colonists and forces, including attacks on farmers, preventing access to their lands, as well as burning, cutting, and stealing olive trees and crops.
