Minister of Electricity and Energy of the caretaker government Dr. Mohammed al-Bukhaiti met on Wednesday with the technical and engineering team responsible for initiating the production of iron and concrete electrical poles.

The meeting took place at the workshops of the General Corporation for Electrical Industries and Renewable Energy.

During the meeting, Dr. al-Bukhaiti received a briefing from Abdullah al-Eryani, the head of the team, on the progress made in line with the ministerial decision.

Al-Eryani detailed the team’s tasks and the competencies of various stakeholders, including the Ministry of Electricity, the General Electricity Corporation, and the bodies involved in electrical industries, renewable energy, and rural electricity.

Al-Eryani presented a technical guide outlining the standards and specifications for pole production, along with insights from the team’s visits to relevant authorities to determine production costs and specifications.

Dr. Al-Bukhaiti commended the team for their pr
ogress and emphasized the importance of adhering to international standards for pole production.

He highlighted the urgent need for poles due to the expansion of activities in the capital and other provinces and the delays in wooden pole supplies.

The Minister stressed the importance of reviewing and incorporating feedback into the specifications, considering climate requirements, and ensuring compliance with standard references for iron, conductors, and grounding.

He also urged continued communication with companies to expedite the preparation of the production line.
