“Ehmehawa, Dawerha” campaign launched in Ajloun forests

Celebrating the World Environment Day, the Saudi Cultural Attaché in Amman on Sunday launched a clean-up and anti-littering “Ehmehawa, Dawerha” campaign, which means “Preserve and Recycle”. The initiative, which was organized in cooperation with SABIC, Ahel Al Balad, and the Jordan Chamber of Industry, aimed at raising citizens’ awareness regarding the safe utilization of plastic in environmentally-friendly ways. Starting with a clean-up hike in the Ajloun Forest Reserve, the campaign was joined by both Saudi and Jordanian students, where they collected discarded waste in the vicinity and sorted plastic waste to recycle it. In addition to cleaning, the campaign included several entertaining and educational activities, providing an opportunity for participants to learn about Jordan’s natural heritage. Furthermore, the initiative focused on the importance of nature as a haven for people, and encouraged participants to become part of a community that cares about preserving the environment and promotes the positive adoption of green practices. Issa bin Fahd Al-Rumaih, Saudi Cultural Attaché in Jordan, emphasized his country’s commitment in supporting the environmental sector, which is an integral part of Saudi Vision 2030 through preparing national strategies, planning for a new environmental system, and launching key initiatives such as the Saudi and Middle East Green Initiatives
