Egypt’s PM submits cabinet resignation to Pres. Al-Sisi
Egypt’s Prime Minister Dr. Mustafa Madbouly presented on Monday the government’s resignation to President Abdulfattah Al-Sisi.
Spokesman for the Egyptian presidency, Ahmad Fahmy said in a statement that President Al-Sisi has reassigned Dr. Madbouly to form a new government.
Targets for new cabinet members would include preserving the country’s national security in light of regional and international challenges, and counter-terrorism, the statement added.
The President has assigned the current government to continue as a caretaker and perform its duties and tasks until a new government is formed.
The resignation came after Al-Sisi was elected for a third term in December 2023 and started the new term in April 2024.
