Egyptian Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouli announced on Sunday cooperation between Egypt and the UAE in the field of electrical energy aimed at using renewable energy to provide Egypt with 4 gigawatts yearly.

During his meeting with the visiting UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Madbouli stated that Egypt’s daily energy consumption has exceeded 37.3 megawatts due to the expansion of cities and industrial and commercial production.

Madbouli has revealed an Egyptian-UAE plan targeting an increase in the production pace of new and renewable energy for the electrical network.

For his part, Al-Jaber emphasized the strong bilateral relations between Egypt and the UAE at all levels, highlighting his country’s commitment to addressing Egypt’s energy challenges.

Furthermore, Al-Jaber reviewed a number of mechanisms in Egypt that his country will cooperate on to fundamentally solve Egypt’s energy problem. Egypt has previously announced plans to increase the contribution o
f renewable energy to the total electricity production, including projects for wind and solar energy generation, in addition to producing environmentally friendly green hydrogen energy.
