Earthquake of 4.5 Magnitude Hits Fiji

An earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale shook on Wednesday the Fiji Islands in the South Pacific Ocean.

The US Geological Survey reported that the epicenter of the tremor occurred at a depth of 605.5 km from the Earth’s surface.

There have been no reports of material or human damage as a result of the tremor so far.

The Fiji Islands are located in an area called the ‘Ring of Fire’ in the Pacific Ocean, which is exposed to many tremors and aftershocks that may be strong at times.
