Acting Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mohsen Al-Mandalawi, stressed the depth of the relationship between Iraq and Iran, and the need to benefit from it in strengthening cooperation in all fields to achieve the common interests of the two countries.

Al-Mandalawi said during his reception of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian: “The memoranda of understanding signed between the two governments in various aspects, especially those related to the economy, trade, agriculture, services, communications, youth, sports, religious tourism and others, will contribute to advancing the wheel of development and opening broader horizons for partnership between Iraq and Iran.”

During the expanded meeting, which was attended by the Prime Minister and a number of bloc leaders, representatives and ministers, it was agreed on the need to activate strategic plans and bilateral agreements, especially security, economic and related to controlling the common borders and preventing all forms of smuggling.

The two side
s renewed their condemnation of the Zionist genocide crimes against civilians in the Gaza Strip, and recalled the positions of the two countries regarding supporting the Palestinian right to establish an independent state with al-Quds as its capital.
