Hodeida Support and Development Fund raised the electricity subsidy ceiling for citizens from 200 to 300 kilograms, in implementation of the President of the Supreme Political Council’s directives.

Caretaker Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs – Minister of Finance and Head of the Board of Directors of the Fund, Dr. Rashid Abu Lahoum, explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that he directed to raise the ceiling of support for citizens in Hodeida to 300 kilowatts for the period from June to August 2024, according to presidential directives.

Dr. Abu Lahoum pointed out that the Hodeida Support and Development Fund had approved subsidizing the price of a kilowatt for citizens, so that the citizen pays only 100 riyals, while the Fund takes care of paying the rest to the institution, up to a ceiling of 200 kilowatts per month, and the support includes subscribers in all directorates.

He stated that the fund has supported more than six thousand of the poorest and most needy subscribers
with free electricity since the beginning of the year 2022 AD, in addition to the families of the martyrs and the teaching staff at Hodeida University and the University of Forensic Sciences.
