Dhamar.. Earthquake Monitoring Center records 5 tremors west of Aden? Gulf ?


The earthquake monitoring and studies stations at the National Center for Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Studies in Dhamar Governorate recorded five medium and light earthquakes today, west of the Gulf of Aden.

The head of the Earthquake and Volcano Monitoring and Studies Center, Eng. Mohammed Hussein Al-Houthi, explained in a statement to the Yemeni News Agency (Saba), that an earthquake measuring “4.9” on the “Richter” scale was recorded at the intersection of longitude and latitude “12.107” north, and “46.09” east, at “1:12” in the afternoon “Sana’a time”, followed by two seismic activities in the same location, the first measuring “2.9” degrees, at “1:25” in the afternoon, and another measuring “2.8”, at “1:27” in the afternoon.

The monitoring stations also recorded two tremors at the intersection of longitude and latitude “12.12” north, and “46.15” east, the first with a magnitude of “2.5” on the Richter scale, at “1:27” in the afternoon, and the second with a magnitude of “3.6” degrees, at “3:
04” in the afternoon.
