The General Customs Authority announced the destruction of a large quantity of drugs and psychotropic substances in the incinerators of the Forensic Medicine Department in the capital, Baghdad.

The Authority stated in a statement that the destruction process was carried out by the Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Destruction Committee in the Forensic Medicine Department, in which the General Customs Authority participates as a permanent member, where (171,266 kg) one hundred and seventy-one kilograms and two hundred and sixty-six grams were destroyed, including (heroin, amphetamine, opium and methylamphetamine) and (120,000) one hundred and twenty thousand pills of (Cidavid).

It is noteworthy that these materials are seized by the competent authorities, including the General Authority of Customs, and are transferred to this committee according to the official seizure reports, so that the latter can destroy them in the incinerator of the Forensic Medicine Department affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of Hea
