Deputy Minister of Administration, Local and Rural Development Nasser al-Mahdhar on Wednesday visited the central archives of the ministry in Sana’a on Saturday.

During the visit, he emphasized the importance of organizing and classifying documents in collaboration with the National Documentation Center, following the guidelines outlined in Law No. (21) of 2002.

Al-Mahdhar urged various sectors, departments, and local authorities to contribute their documents to the central archive for documentation and preservation using modern methods, including the newly implemented electronic archiving system.

He highlighted that the central archive plays a key role in documenting a significant period in Yemen’s modern administrative history, particularly the local authority system and its evolution.

The Deputy Minister stressed the importance of preserving these records for those interested in developing the local authority system and conducting a scientific analysis of its structure.
