The Agricultural Cooperative Union honored on Monday participating agricultural cooperative societies today at the National Honey Festival’s third season, recognizing their contributions to the festival’s success.

The ceremony, overseen by the Supreme Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and funded by the Agricultural and Fisheries Production Encouragement Fund, featured remarks from the Fund’s Director, Abdul-Wahhab Al-Ashwal.

He highlighted the crucial role of agricultural cooperatives in advancing the sector and supporting food security. Al-Ashwal emphasized the need for expanded activities and qualified societies to enhance development and support government programs.

Eng. Mohammed al-Qahoum, Secretary-General of the Agricultural Cooperative Union, commended the societies for their active participation and encouraged them to improve marketing skills and maintain community trust. He noted that the festival’s success would inform future recommendations and strategies for honey production and marketing.

Additionally, al-Qahoum announced that 5% of the societies’ festival sales would be donated to flood-affected individuals in Tihama, underscoring the cooperative spirit of the event.
