Colonists attack citizens harvesting olives in Deir Istiya, steal agricultural equipment

Israeli colonists attacked Palestinian citizens this evening while they were harvesting olives in the town of Deir Istiya, located in the West Bank province of Salfit, stealing agricultural tools in the process.

Nizmi Salman, a local anti-settlement activist, reported that a group of colonists targeted Anwar Aql and his family during their olive picking in the southern area of the town, firing live ammunition into the air to force them off their land.

When Anwar returned to his land, he discovered that the colonists had stolen the ladder he used for harvesting olives, marking the third time such a ladder has been taken by colonists.

Salman further noted that the colonists also assaulted brothers Rifat and Ahmad Abu Ali and their families in the same area, preventing them from harvesting olives, threatening them with weapons, and stealing a donkey used for transporting the olives, as well as other harvesting equipment, including three ladders and tarps.
