Chinese President Xi Jinping and HH Kuwaiti Crown Prince Sheikh Mishal Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah discussed on Friday bilateral relations and a range of joint issues.

Kuwait News Agency said that the talks, which were held in Hangzhou, China, focused on the bilateral relations and means of further strengthening them with the objective of boosting prosperity of the two peoples, and contribute to progress and development.

The two sides also discussed the desire to cement the strategic partnership between Kuwait and China, in addition to exchanging views over a host of regional and international development.

The two sides witnessed signing of cooperation agreements between Kuwait and China, including a joint statement regarding a cooperation plan for years 2024-28, and an MoU between Kuwait Municipality and the National Development and Reform Commission in China regarding a low-carbon recycling.

They also witnessed the signing of an MoU between Kuwaiti Ministry of Public Works and the National Development and Reform Commission regarding infrastructure of water treatment stations, an MoU between Kuwaiti Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy and the national energy department in China regarding the power systems and renewable energy.

Kuwait and China also signed an MoU regarding Mubarak Al-Kabeer Port, in addition to another between Kuwait Direct Investment Promotion Authority (KDIPA) and Chinese Ministry of Trade regarding economic and free zones, and an MoU between the Kuwaiti Public Authority for Housing Welfare and Chinese ministry of trade regarding housing development.
